Girls Varsity Swimming · Full Team Goes Full Steam Ahead in 2nd Meet of the Season

Savannah Savage girls swimmers made a strong appearance at the meet last night against St. Joe Central and Platte County. The full squad was represented and ready to race.
Makenzie Kurre made her debut in her first meet of the season. Last year she was state champion in the 100 free and placed 3rd in the 200 free. She swam to first place in both those events last night and secured her spot for the State Championship meet!
Mandy Lawson dropped 3 seconds in her 200 free and raced along side teammate Danica Rodriguez.
Paige Nold took on the 200 IM, which is a race that tests all four competitive strokes.
Savannah had a strong showing in the ‘splash and dash’ 50 freestyle with Ainsley Blake, Jillian Cook, Abby Caraway, and Jade Dierenfeldt competing in the varsity event.
The freestyle relay teams of Mandy Lawson, Danica Rodriguez, Paige Nold, and Makenzie Kurre locked in State Consideration cuts touching out Central for a 2nd place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay and placed first in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
Lots of improvement overall and the girls are grinding away for their next meet coming up next Wednesday December 16th in Raytown.
